Hello Everyone!

Here’s a list of some free (or very nearly free) family-friendly events in Mississauga and the GTA for June 2nd-June 7th.  This list is by no means comprehensive, so please comment if I missed something.  Enjoy!

Saturday, June 2nd

Toronto Horse Day-Horse Palace, Exhibition Place (11:00 AM-4:00 PM)

Toronto Horse Day is a free, family friendly event taking place at the Horse Palace, Exhibition Place on Saturday June 2 from 11am to 4pm. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn the basics of horsemanship through a fun and interactive program.
Avid equestrian and actor Daniel Fathers, best known for his roles as Uncle Brown in Disney’s “Camp Rock” & “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” and as Stewart Forrest, Canadian Olympic Equestrian Trainer/Coach on CBC’s “Heartland” will be participating as the official ring emcee showcasing different riding and driving styles and various horse breeds. The live demonstrations will begin at 12pm and will include jumping, reining, dressage and driving just to name a few!  The Toronto Mounted Police will be giving guided tours of their stable and introducing the police horses.  Visitors will also have the chance to participate in the “Dream Horse” colouring contest.

Piazza Italia is an Italian festival highlighting the important value of Italy’s cultural and commercial contributions to the city.  As in an Italian piazza—a symbol of La Dolce Vita and hub of community life—Piazza Italia will recreate the vibe of a piazza including: food and drink such as coffee, gelato and pizza, live music, and personal appearances from sports figures to TV personalities.

Transit of Venus-Ontario Science Centre (5:30 PM-10:00PM)
