Finally! I promised you guys a very special spotlight last week, and here it is! Thinnox is a great place for high school students to do their co-op assignments because it allows them to utilize their skills in a professional environment. Alex and Phil have just finished their co-op placement, and they had lots of great things to say!
Thinnox: Let’s start off with an easy one. Tell us a little bit about yourselves.
Alex(Right): I’m Alex, I’m 16 years old and I go to St. Famille.
Phil(Left): I’m Phillipe, I’m also 16, and I go to St. Famille.
Thinnox: St. Famille… that’s the French school, right?
Alex and Phil: Yep!
Thinnox: So how’s your French?
Phil: Tres bien!
Thinnox: Glad to hear it! Alright, let’s get down to business. While you guys have been here at Thinnox, what kind of projects have you done?
Alex: We spent a lot of time working on the website.
Phil: We made corrections and had to figure out what to showcase on the online gallery.
Thinnox: I know you guys were involved in STRIDE as well. Why don’t you tell us a little bit about that?
Phil: I helped with registration and directed people to where they needed to go.
Alex: I floated, so I walked around and made sure that everyone had what they needed. Kind of like an usher.
Thinnox: Good stuff, guys. So where do you think you’ll be in 5 years?
Alex and Phil: College!
Thinnox: Haha, great. What do you want to take in college? Did you do any research on specific schools?
Alex: Video games and programming. I was looking into Sheridan.
Phil: I want to do something with video games too. I was thinking about going to school in France.
Thinnox: Wow! France is a long way from home! So what do you guys like most about Thinnox?
Phil: The staff is really nice.
Alex: Yeah, everyone is really nice. I’m glad you offer after school programs for technology, design and programming. There aren’t really a lot out there.
Thinnox: Awesome! Last question. Random fact about yourself. GO!
Alex: I’m good at drawing.
Phil: I actually like reading.
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and efforts. We hope that you learned a lot while working with us, and best of luck in your future endeavors.
